The Pier by Playa Del Carmen
I was fortunate to spend new years at Playa Del Carmen in Mexico. I traveled with my tripod hoping to find that interesting spot where I could experiment with long exposures to create the dreamy foggy smooth look.
I was fortunate enough to find it! I spotted the pier in the middle of the day and immediately identified the pier as a good possibility for a long exposure photo. I am not equipped with ND filters so I waited for the time of day when the sun was just ready to set but enough light available for the color effect. I shot on a tripod for stability. Turned off image stabilization, set the ISO to 100 (lowest for my camera) and dropped the aperture to f22 in order to get the longest shutter speed for the correct exposure.
